to cover all the people born under a particular sign, PRACTICAL ASTROLOGY
will give you access to keywords
that will allow you to build a customized horoscope specifically for you
and the circumstances in your life!
PLUS - instead of viewing planetary influences as outside events over which you have no control PRACTICAL ASTROLOGY will teach you to view planetary configurations as OPPORTUNITIES that will allow you to work with the timing of the universe to make choices, exert control, observe results and track your success over time. Happy Birthday, Pisces! This year's birthday month for you has the potential to be, well, interesting. There's a fair amount of planetary action that could affect you in ways large and small. The sun will enter your sun of course, and you'll have a birthday new moon on February 27th. Mercury is already in your sign and will begin retrograding as of the 2nd of March, meaning that this little planet will be in your neck of the woods throughout the solar month. Mars will finally enter Gemini and your solar 4th house where it will stir up goodness knows what in the sector of home and family. Uranus continues to transit your sign, and this month it will meet briefly with the sun and have a potentially fairly gnarly conversation with Mars on the 11th of March. And to top it off, there's a full moon eclipse in your opposite sign of Virgo on March 14. Add it all up and it's an unpredictable month. Which is why I'm not going to even hazard any guesses as to what this month will bring you. Plausible scenarios range from absolutely nothing of interest to experiencing a month full of surprising events. Theoretically, the eclipse will touch you in the sector of your closest relationships (marriage, business partners, etc.), so you may see some action there. Or...you may not. Eclipses tend to be unpredictable, and so does Uranus. So instead of telling you what exactly to expect, I'll tell you what to be alert for, by trying to give you a sense of what the big picture is for your sign, and why some planetary weirdness may make itself felt. You see, this eclipse essentially kicks off a period of around two years in which the planets will seemingly be hell-bent on getting something to happen for you that will make you very very glad. In the process, however, they will root through your closets with the help of Neptune in Aquarius and throw everything up in the air until they find what they're looking for. I don't know how you feel about having everything tossed up in the air for a couple of years, but I'm going to try to explain to you why I think it's a good thing although you may very well disagree at times. You see, one of the reasons that Piscean people exist on this planet is to teach other signs how to experience joy. This may seem like an unlikely task for Pisces as no sign can get gloomier, sadder, or more depressed. Pisces is the quintessential crying sign of the zodiac and whether you happen to be the kind of Piscean who likes to indulge it or not, your sign likes nothing better than a big boo-hooing session to clear out not only its sinuses but its accumulated sad feelings. And that, in its contradictory way, is exactly why Pisces is also the single most joyful, ecstatic sign in the zodiac. Sadness, boo-hooing, and the rest of those things happen to be how the human soul cleanses itself so it can see anew. Joy is experienced in the moment, something that the mutable sign of Pisces knows. If you repress sadness when it occurs, you repress joy as well. Being open to joyful moments requires periodic cleansing of the soul by indulging in and getting rid of all those little sadnesses, disappointments and painful feelings we all experience. Most of the other signs don't know that. They think the route to joy is to conscientiously slap a positive attitude on top of all those sad feelings they'd rather not experience. A positive attitude is a wonderful thing, but it is not joy. Joy requires being able to feel; and being able to feel means being willing to experience pain. Now what the heck does this have to do with me, you may be wondering uneasily at this point. Here's the deal. The planets are apparently getting ready to strap you into a rollercoaster of emotions to test your Piscean willingness and ability to ride through the moments and show all the rest of us that if we can just hang in there with our real feelings during the inevitable sickening drops that life sometimes hands us, then we will also get to experience the wonderful, exhilarating, joyful highs that life also hands out. Uranus, Mr. Rollercoaster himself, is very firmly parked in your sign. Neptune, your own ruling planet, is busy pulling up every unconscious feeling it can find in your psyche for your examination. And the eclipse series that begins March 14 is basically a set of mini-thrill rides that occur around 6 months for a couple of years. During the next couple of years your legs may get wobbly at times, and you may wonder whether or not you really want to be on a rollercoaster. But if you can hang in there through this process--big time joy will come your way. This is the kind of energy that can make dreams come true. It may make them come true in a series of extremely unsettling jolts, but it can make them come true. Not all of them at once, but some of the most important ones. If you're willing to ride the rollercoaster. So what do you need to do to make your dreams come true during this cycle? Well, it helps to actually have some. It also helps to communicate them, and to be willing to act on them. A little bravery will work to your advantage during this cycle as well. Being alert to surprising opportunities (the key word is surprising) and not hesitating to jump on them is a big plus. But the most important thing perhaps is to not block the energy. The rest of us are counting on you to be an inspiration. Show us how it's done. Show us how you're willing to keep on wanting something important even when wanting is painful, even when wanting is not having yet. Show us that if a person is willing to experience all the highs and lows that go with wanting and trying and trying again to make a dream come true--that crazy wonderful things really will happen. All the rest of us want to see your dreams come true because it gives us hope. So show all the rest of us how to experience joyfulness by spending the next couple of years being willing to have some of your dreams come true. Ah Aries, so what shall we talk about this month? There's almost too much going on to give a concise summary. The sun will be in Pisces in your solar 12th house, as will the new moon on February 27. The full moon on the 14th brings an eclipse in Virgo in your solar 6th house. Mars finally moves into Gemini and your solar 3rd house of communication. The sun will join Uranus on March 1st, and Uranus will square Mars on the 11th. To me, it sounds like the kind of month that can send an Arien brain spinning. The solar 12th house, where the majority of the month's action occurs for you is the house where...well, a person's brain suddenly finds itself spinning. One of the things that may send your brain spinning is news on the job (that solar 6th house eclipse). Or maybe not. Eclipses are unpredictable that way. Maybe your brain will start spinning as a result of a sudden revelation. It's entirely possible; the planetary energy is ripe for either sudden revelations, or sudden unexpected doses of truth. You may find out what's really going on at your workplace, or finally figure out what you really think about an important matter. It's also possible that your revelations will be of a spiritual nature. Pisces is a very spiritual sign and the 12th house is a very spiritual house. It's possible that you will feel a sudden sense of oneness with the universe. It's also possible that you will experience a sudden sense of disillusionment with a spiritual teaching you previously embraced. It's sort of like the energy is up for grabs and could go in a multitude of different directions. Whatever
happens or doesn't during this solar month, your job as an Arien is basically
to stay very aware during this brief period of rather unsettled energy.
If you can manage to stay alert and aware, the information that you gain
this month could prove quite important over the next couple of years or
so. With so much action centered around your solar 12th house, this isn't
really a good month for bold action. It's a month for gathering information
so that you can take action when the sun moves into your own sign during
the next solar month. For the moment, just sit tight, and see if you can
figure out what's going on. If things prove a bit too unsettled for your
taste this month and you experience a couple of sleepless nights, take
heart in the knowledge that next month is your birthday month and you
are scheduled for what I am definitely hoping will be some good news then.

So, Taurus how to describe this month? Well, we've got the sun and Mercury in Pisces in your solar 11th house. Mercury will start retrograding on the 2nd, which normally isn't nearly as big a deal as some like to think, but I have to admit that this time it only adds to what is basically some unsettled planetary energy all the way through the end of the period. A full moon eclipse in Virgo on March 14 adds to the potential drama. Mars has finally left your own sign and entered Gemini, which seemingly would give you a bit of respite, but the darn planet will spend almost the whole month in a square by sign with all the planets in Pisces. Since the planets in Pisces include Uranus, the energy is anything but stable. In fact, I ran across a phrase that sums up what I think this month is about for you: harmonious madness. The harmony comes from the harmony loving sign of Pisces. The madness comes from all the rest of the planets crowding about the sign and acting a bit crazy in the process. You could experience ecstatic feelings of well being and infinite peace this month as the Piscean energy swells in your 11th house. On the other hand, you could suddenly find yourself feeling like swearing as the eclipse hits your solar 5th house of love affairs, children, and creativity. Romance could sizzle like hotcakes on a griddle. Or conflicts with your honey could leave you stomping around the house in a king-sized snit. That's what I meant by unstable. Things could go either way. Or maybe both. You may be ecstatically peaceful one day and madder than a hornet at someone you love the next. So what to do during a month of harmony and madness? Well, Taurus, I kinda think you've only got one option. Go with the flow. Things aren't really under anybody's control this month, I don't think. So just see what it brings. When agreement, sweetness, and harmony abound--go with them. When angry feelings arise if they do (Mars squaring the planets in Pisces is kind of an angry energy), well, the patience that Taurus is famed for may have to be exercised for a couple of months. The majority of the new action this month is in mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, and Pisces), and stuff that happens in a mutable sign has a tendency to come and go. Not exactly the way a fixed sign like Taurus likes to do things, but at least it'll pass. For some additional keywords you can use to customize your own horoscope - click here. Well, Gemini there's almost too much going on this month to adequately describe. The sun and your ruling planet, Mercury, are joining Uranus in Pisces in your solar 10th house of career. A full moon eclipse will be occurring in Virgo in your solar 4th house, which could bring some significant jolts on the home front. On March 5th, Venus will enter Aquarius to join Neptune in your philosophical solar 9th house, where they will gang up to oppose Saturn in Leo in your solar 3rd house of communications. To top it all off, Mars is in your own sign of Gemini finally, after a long stay in Taurus in your solar 12th house. What does all this mean to you? Hard to say, since there's a lot of unsettled energy in the air, but I'm going to suggest that you spend the month moving your lips. As in talking, which is what the sign of Gemini is all about. Talking is how the sign of Gemini gets things going and moving, and after a long period of dampened planetary energy, you finally get a chance to get yourself in gear by doing what you do best. In fact, I would advise you take advantage of this opportunity, because it isn't going to last forever. Here's what's going on. Saturn in your solar 3rd has been trying hard to keep your communications uncharacteristically quiet, and inclined to focus your conversation on the realistic, practical here and now. It's been trying to restrain your flights of fancy, and get you to think before you speak. This is a good thing in many ways and you will benefit from it. But...it's hard road to hoe for Gemini for two solid years. It goes against the natural Gemini grain. This month is kind of like your vacation month from that energy in a way. When Venus joins Neptune on March 5th, the two combined energies will give you something of a hiatus from Saturn. In other words, for a brief period, you get to speak your mind freely--and you don't even have to make sense. You can talk about whatever the heck you want, unrealistic or impractical as it may be. Expound on poetry or show off your intellectual knowledge of the arts. Mercury retrograding in the impractical and artistic sign of Pisces gives you a chance to let loose and babble on in a fanciful and stress-relieving manner, especially when combined with the influence of Venus and Neptune in Aquarius. You haven't had much of a chance to show off verbally here lately, take your opportunity while you've got it. Meanwhile, Mars in your own sign of Gemini is stirring up your classic Geminian duality and inner conflict. All your inner demons are kind of trying to get loose. A long stay of Mars in the solar 12th house stirs things up, and now they need to be vented, and put in perspective. For some of you, Mars' long stay has coincided with some rough times, where you have just had to grin and bear it, and keep your private thoughts to yourself. Now, with Mars in sextile to Saturn, you have a chance to unload. It's like a cloud is briefly lifted, and you can process what you've been through over the last six or seven months. But...with all the ninth house activity, you're under no obligation to make a lot of embarrassing personal revelations if you don't want. You can just talk about your general thoughts on things, secure in the knowledge that your sign is finally getting a chance to put things together and get you moving forward again. I repeat, you don't have make sense. You can talk excitedly about potential career plans, express worries about your family, expound on your opinions, indulge in speculation, and just generally chat, network, gab, speak, gossip, and interact. Soon Mars and Venus will move on, and it will be back to the Saturnian grind. But you've got a chance this month to get yourself all fired up and excited about life again. So don't hesitate to use it. Chat up everyone you know, and maybe you can get everyone else excited too, and on your side. Hello, Cancer. There's a lot going on in the sky this solar month, but of all of the signs, you are one of the least likely to be unduly disrupted by planetary action. The sun, Mercury, and Uranus are all in Pisces this month in your solar 9th house, where it will be hard for them to do anything all that dramatic. Venus moves into Aquarius on March 5th to join Neptune in your solar 8th house, where they will oppose Saturn in your solar 2nd house of income and money. Again, it will be hard for these planets to do anything too upsetting here, and they may even do something nice for you financially. Probably not a big windfall, but perhaps a nice little something to counteract Saturn's financial sternness. Mars is in Gemini in your solar 12th house, another house where Mars is unlikely to have much of a dramatic effect. Jupiter in Scorpio is still being nice in your solar 5th house of love, and it's in a good mood with all those planets in Pisces. There's a full moon eclipse in Virgo in your solar 3rd house of communication on March 14th, but eclipses here are rarely all that earth-shattering. In other words, of all the signs, you've got the smoothest sailing. In fact, if those around you display a certain tendency to freak out this month, you would be the best man or woman for the job of getting them centered again. With all those planets in your philosophical solar 9th house, others would be wise to listen to you, because well...the 9th house is the house of wisdom. If there's anything you can do to further along your agenda this solar month, it would be to speak up so others can hear you. Other signs may be grateful for your input, and you can not only do them a favor by weighing in with your thoughts, you can also do yourself a favor by establishing yourself as someone worth listening to. Cancers are always people worth listening to in my opinion, but sometimes...some Cancers who don't have aggressive rising signs have a tendency to hold back politely and let others do the talking. Cancer is an excellent leadership sign, but it is a sign of quiet leadership. I don't mean you need to be loud this month if that's not your style. What I mean is more that if you have a certain philosophy of life that helps you through uncertainty, you have something to contribute to the other signs that will be facing their share of it this month. Share your philosophy or your spiritual outlook (Pisces is a spiritual sign); it's valuable this month. Help your Gemini friends out by listening to their thoughts and contributing your input. Give your Virgo and Pisces friends a shoulder to vent on, and share your perspective. You went through your own growth time most likely in the two years between mid 2003 and mid 2005 when Saturn was in your solar 1st house, and you probably learned a lot. Share some of that learning this month. Other signs may well find it very enlightening. For keywords you can use to customize an alternate interpretation- click here. Dear Leo, this is a solar month in which the keyword seems to be simply paying attention to what's going on and not necessarily trying too hard to get a lot accomplished or take a lot of bold actions. There's still big planet fixed sign action in the sky with Saturn in your own sign, Jupiter in Scorpio in your solar 4th house of home and family, and Venus and Neptune in Aquarius in your solar 7th house. It's a good month to attend to those you love and enjoy the relatively nice vibrations taking place in matters of the heart. On the other hand, there's also a lot of mutable action this solar month, which sometimes has a tendency to unsettle fixed signs like yours. The sun, Mercury, and Uranus are all in the mutable sign of Pisces in your solar 8th house of joint finances. Mars will be in Gemini, another mutable sign, in your solar 11th house of life direction. There's a full moon eclipse on March 14th in mutable Virgo, in your second house of income. None of these things are necessarily hugely prominent influences, but the energy is all kind of banging around like a pinball in an arcade game, and your environment, particularly your financial environment, could find itself inundated with a kind of weird atmosphere. You may even experience some surprising financial news. Since things are a bit chaotic in the sky, it will be hard to sort out at first what's relevant and what's not. So just kind of sit tight and pay attention, and see what you can discern. Give yourself some time to absorb any information that comes your way. Leo and Pisces are very dissimilar signs, and it will eventually be your task to disentangle yourself from any energy in the atmosphere that doesn't suit you. Saturn in your own sign is here to help you stay grounded, so take advantage of it, and just stay focused on what's most important to you. There may be all kinds of distractions going on, but if you remember to stay grateful for what you've got and not worry too much about what could happen financially, you should do fine. VIRGO: AUGUST 23 - SEPTEMBER 22 Okay, Virgo, I hope you're feeling strong enough for the truth, because I'm not going to sugarcoat things. The astrological event of seemingly the most importance to you this month is a lunar eclipse in your own sign on the 14th of March. You may find it a bit hellish. Lunar eclipses tend to be more about endings than beginnings, which admittedly can be good; sometimes it's good to get rid of bad things with the help of a lunar eclipse. Still, most of us prefer beginnings to endings, and that's not really what this energy is about. Meanwhile, Mars is in Gemini this month, in square by sign to not only the eclipse, but to Uranus, Mercury, and the sun in Pisces. Mercury goes retrograde on March 2nd, which isn't really a big deal except that it's your ruler and its backward motion adds a bit of complication to an already complicated sky. Pluto in Sagittarius isn't in such a great angle to this eclipse either. In short, we have three aggressive planets (Uranus, Mars, and Pluto) all sort of squaring off against this eclipse, while your own ruler dithers around in Pisces, your opposite sign. I'm not really thrilled about the position of Saturn in your 12th house opposite Venus and Neptune during this eclipse either. Since mutable energy is all over the sky this month, impacting your most important houses, you could potentially get some unpleasant news in virtually any sector of your life. However, and if I'm going to be truthful about things I need to be honest about this as well--you may not feel any effects from the eclipse at all. In my observation, only about half of all eclipses have any noticeable effect, and sometimes they deliver good news in spite of a bunch of gnarly angles in the sky. Things could go either way. Good, bad, or indifferent. You may find yourself saying "Well, that wasn't so bad. I don't see what all the astrological fuss was about." The bottom line I suppose is that you'll have to wait and see what this month brings. The indications are that things will be much clearer in about five or six weeks. Even if you don't end up being particularly impacted by this month's configurations, chances are that a few people around you will. With the bulk of the month's energy being concentrated in your opposite sign of Pisces, a sign that does not favor the clarity that Virgos excel at, the prudent move is simply to keep your wits about you. Don't make any sudden moves or initiate big projects, and simply observe what happens. When things get themselves sorted out, you can move forward again more forthrightly. Most likely, you'll end up being glad you didn't rush in where angels fear to tread this month, and that you avoided some potentially costly mistakes by keeping your own counsel and resolving to just wait and see. LIBRA: SEPTEMBER 23 - OCTOBER 22 So Libra, aren't you glad you're a cardinal sign like your friends with Aries, Cancer, and Capricorn suns? You should be, because you folks are getting a free astrological pass compared to some folks out there who are waist-deep in impactful fixed and mutable sign energy this month. Comparatively speaking, you can spend this month whistling a happy tune and strolling about nonchalantly. Planetary activity is most likely to affect you in the area of work, volunteer activities, and daily routines (the solar 6th house), as Uranus, Mercury, and the sun are all in Pisces this month. There's a lunar eclipse on March 14th in your solar 12th house, but it's difficult to for a lunar eclipse to get a whole lot going in the 12th house. You may visit someone in the hospital, or even in jail, but the odds are not high that this eclipse will have a major impact on your life. It's possible though that there may also be some restructuring in job life. Sometimes eclipses do bounce their energy into the opposite solar house. If this happens, do your Libra thing and just sort of sit there weighing your options if you have any. You may not. Your boss may be leaving for greener pastures and that just may be the end of the story. The point is, if you can just sort of mull things over, you'll be in a better position to make any necessary decisions in about five or six weeks. Being a Libra, the thing you may notice the most this month is that your friends, family, associates, and so on might be a bit weirded out. If you can be a grounding influence on others this month, you'll be doing a good deed and expressing your wonderful Libra traits to a high purpose. Others may need your not excessively emotional touch this month, and if you can be a port in a storm for anybody, please feel free to take advantage of the opportunity to do so. Meanwhile, Venus joins Neptune in Aquarius this month in your solar 5th house of romance and love (and kids and creativity). It's a great month to be out and about falling in love. SCORPIO: OCTOBER 23 - NOVEMBER 21 Hello, Scorpio. This month there's a lunar eclipse in your solar 11th house of friendship on March 14. You could find a friendship or your participation in a group coming to an end. Although the circumstances of this ending, if it occurs, may not seem all that friendly (Mars, Pluto, and Uranus are in rather aggressive angles to this eclipse), in the long run it's probably all for the best. It was a relationship or an association that you have probably long outgrown. In other news, Venus will join Neptune in your solar 4th house of roots, while the sun and Mercury will join Uranus in your solar 5th house of love affairs, creativity, and children. With Mercury going retrograde on March 3rd, there's an odd conglomeration of influences at work here that seem to have a specific meaning, particularly when we throw in the continuing transit of Jupiter through your own sign. It seems that Jupiter is intended to give you a greater sense of security, self-confidence, and willingness to make choices. You are to use that sense of security it would seem to take a deep cold-eye look at your own illusions, delusions, lies and stories you tell yourself, and any habits you should have long since left behind, particularly in the areas of...well, love, creativity and children. Venus is the love planet, Neptune is the planet of illusions, delusions, stories and lies you tell yourself. Aquarius is the sign of taking a cold-eyed look at things and the 4th house is the house of your habits from the past. All of these things are linked with the activity in Pisces in which Mercury retrograde encourages you to think about your previous stories, thoughts, and actions. The idea here seems to be that if you can take a cold-eyed look at whatever from the past or in your own head stands between you and the truly deep connections Scorpio is capable of making, you can find the sense of union with a lover, child, or even a creative endeavor that you're seeking. The sun in Pisces this month gives you the wherewithal to make some progress. So the motto of the month seems to be 'go deep.' Go as deep within yourself as you can, and pull out the knowledge you gain to increase your sense of union with what you love. You're good at this, Scorpio, and the universe is on your side in this endeavor, so don't trouble yourself too much about nasty angles around your friendship house, when you've got so much potential at your disposal. So Sagittarius, I'm going to be honest with you (you do appreciate that, don't you?). This solar month is full of uncertainty and even diceyness. You're scheduled for a lunar eclipse in your solar 10th house of career, reputation, status, and activities outside the home. You may receive some news in this sector. If so, it seems to be the result of others' actions and not your own initiative. Pluto in your own sign seems to be glaring petulantly at this eclipse, hence the uncertainty and diceyness. Meanwhile, Mars is in Gemini and your 7th solar house of relationships. More news possible on the relationship front and again, it appears to be the result of others' actions, not your own. Uranus, the sun, and Mercury are all milling about restlessly in your solar 4th house of home and family, so more news possible on that front. Ditto that bit about it comes as a result of other people's agendas, not your own. In other words, there's a lot of aggressive planetary energy in the mutable signs, potentially striking you from all directions. You will handle this, I'm sure, in your own unique Sagittarian style. You've had a mutable sun sign your own life, you're used to mutable energy by now. In fact, if there's advice I can give you during this rather unsettled time, it's to be your own Sagittarian self, even if they (whoever they may be) don't like it. Things will shift around in the sky soon, as they always do, and it will turn out that in the long run you will have outlasted all of them, in your own mutable fashion. CAPRICORN: DECEMBER 22 - JANUARY 19 So Capricorn this is your month to be a good person, in a spiritual and even religious sense. There's a lunar eclipse scheduled in Virgo your 9th solar house of philosophy and religion for March 14. This eclipse interacts with Pluto in Sagittarius in your 12th solar house of spirituality and compassion. The sun, Mercury, and Uranus are all in the ever so spiritual (and sometimes saintly) sign of Pisces in your solar 3rd house of daily interactions with others and communication. That's an awful lot of religious and spiritual energy in your chart. It would appear that since this energy seems to want release itself in your 3rd house of communication that other signs are counting on your best spiritual or religious self this month for guidance, leadership, or a steadying Capricornian touch. This may be particularly true at work where Gemini in your solar 6th house is stirring things up. Much of the energy this month could potentially hit some of the other signs hard. If you're the type that's willing to pray for others, this is a good month to do so. Not because anything terrible will happen (although it might, some of the energy this month is rather aggressive), but because your compassion on behalf of others is valuable this month. Help a friend who needs encouragement, a colleague facing a layoff, a business associate who could use some assistance landing a new client. I have a feeling that if you exercise your most saintly and unselfish self this month, that the universe will reward you. Maybe not immediately, maybe not for several months, but I think your steady cardinal energy is intended to be used for the greater good this month, and that you will feel the payoffs if you let yourself be a good influence while the universe seems to need you. AQUARIUS: JANUARY 20 - FEBRUARY 18 I suppose the theme of this solar month is surprise. The sun, Mercury, and the surprising planet Uranus (your ruler) are in the surprising sign of Pisces. The new moon in Pisces in your solar 2nd house of money and income occurs this year on February 27. A couple of weeks later, on March 14, there's a lunar eclipse, another potentially surprising astrological influence, in Virgo in your solar 8th house of joint finances, taxes, non-job income, and mysterious stuff. Your planetary co-ruler, Saturn, continues its sojourn in your solar 7th house of relationships where it will oppose Venus in your own sign. This is not necessarily surprising, but it is kind of complicated. Especially when you factor in Mars in Gemini in your solar 5th house. Mars is in a bad mood with all those Piscean planets, particularly Uranus, and you may find yourself just wanting to fight with your lovers, children, siblings, or maybe even yourself. It's sort of like everything in the sky is affecting everything else in the sky this month, and given that you have a fairly perceptive sun sign, you may feel it all, even if only subliminally. Since yours is a sign of the mind, I have a feeling the purpose of all this activity is to get you thinking, something you're pretty good at. What are you supposed to think about? Well, it's all kind of vague (Pisces is a vague sign), but I think it has something to do with the reality that none of us came make it solely on our own. We are all linked, interdependent, and affected by one another. Aquarius is independent by nature, granted, but with Saturn in the 7th house, and this eclipse in your solar 8th house, the message seems to be that you need others. You may not particularly like to think about this, I'm not claiming that you have to, it's just that I have to acknowledge the planetary trend. This business of needing others may have to do directly with your finances. As in, maybe you need to borrow some money (the 8th house rules debt), or to otherwise partner or merge with someone else to make things work. On the new moon on Feb. 27, give some very serious thought, if you can spare a moment, to your current income and financial situation. Think about whether you need to get some assistance or input from others. Then if something surprising that you don't want to think about occurs around the 14th of March, well, at least you'll have already done some thinking on these kinds of things. Oh yeah, one other thing. If the weather turns cold where you live-stay warm! Guard against colds, flu, and nasty stuff. Your sign is affected by cold weather and Saturn in the opposite sign of Leo really exacerbates this. Pretty soon it will be spring in the Northern Hemisphere but don't let your guard down yet, or all this unsettled astrological energy could end up just knocking you on your butt. Take care of yourself. For keywords you can use to customize your horoscope - click here. For instructions on how to use the keywords - click here. |

THE SIGN OF PISCES Pisces is a mutable water sign. Planetary ruler: Neptune. Season: Winter. Associated with the 12th house of the dissolving self, spirituality, and escape. Its symbol is the Fishes. Pisces is essentially the sign of sensitivity, the soul, and escape. This particular constellation in the sky is a necessary and valuable element of the equation because without sensitivity, we cannot get along with each other. It is our sensitivity that curbs our warlike and aggressive instincts, and makes us feel what the consequences of our actions are upon others. By the same token, all that sensitivity makes a normal person long for the occasional escape. Being sensitive is hard work! We know we need to get along with others to survive, but gosh sometimes we don't want to, and wish we didn't have to accommodate ourselves the realities of everyone else around us. Hence the occasional fantasy of killing the boss, becoming as famous as Madonna, or winning the lottery. The soul, of course, is another element of the human equation that represents both our greatest sensitivity and compassion, and our desire to escape to a better realm of spirituality, religion, and union with God. Going to heaven wouldn't be so bad either. These are all pretty heavy concepts, and I'll leave you to ponder them as you see fit. Truly learning astrology does involve pondering the deep and mysterious sign of Pisces at some point, but this month I feel like highlighting a lighter, more practical (perhaps) side of this sign. But first, some personal disclosure. When I started studying astrology as a youngster, my parents were nice enough to purchase astrological readings with famous astrologers for me. Sometimes these astrologers would tell me that my chart would reveal my hidden talents. I have to tell you I was pretty disappointed when, despite the pronouncements of astrologers, no hidden talents actually emerged in my life and I seemed to be pretty much stuck with the obvious talents and flaws I already knew about. Consequently, I've never much used the hidden talents concept in my astrological studies. The movement of Uranus into Pisces a couple of years ago has shifted that perspective a bit. I am now coming around to the idea that it may be the sign of Pisces where many of us park our hidden talents, and that it takes a very big and impactful planet like Uranus to activate them sometimes. Pisces is a rather hidden sign by its nature, and it rules the hidden 12th house. Uranus, though, is the kind of planet that brings things forcefully to light. If you have any hidden talents in the house ruled by Pisces in your chart, the presence of Uranus here is pretty much your ticket to liberate them. Count round the zodiac from your sun sign (and from your rising sign if you know it), and ponder the various large and small concepts associated with that house. If Pisces is in your 7th house, perhaps you have a hidden talent for being sympathetic in relationships, one that could use a little more prominence in your life. Perhaps you have a hidden talent for spirituality, artistic creativity, or handling money. I don't want to be like the astrologers of my youth and promise you that your hidden talents will suddenly come unexpectedly bursting forth over the next few years (although they might). What I'm suggesting actually is that as you get to know your own chart and to understand astrology, you can add some richness, depth, and insight by pondering the hidden gifts that the sign of Pisces might hold in your chart and those of others. If you can see your way clear to nudging some of those delicate gifts towards the sun this year, I'm thinking you may find the mysterious sign of Pisces to be a very rewarding one indeed. |

HOW TO USE KEYWORDS: The essence of learning astrology is understanding how to mix, match, and blend the concepts associated with signs, planets, and houses to figure out what is or will be affecting you at a given point in time. This takes practice and practice is exactly what you're going to have a chance to get if you use the keywords each month. Keywords can be used to plan and take action using the month's energies, to explain events or to make predictions. Scan for keywords that seem relevant to situations in your own life. You'll have 3 sets of keywords you can blend, one for the planet discussed, one for the sign it's in and one for the solar house it's transiting. Pick the keywords that interest you most and create your customized horoscope! For example, if the Sun is in Aries in your solar first house, if you want to plan or take action you might pick the Sun keyword 'power', the Aries keyword 'initiating', and the 1st house keyword 'self-expression' to create an intention for yourself that you have the power to initiate actions to express yourself more fully in ways that you desire. You'll know what 'self-expression' means to you. It works best if you pick keywords that 'speak' to you or that coincide with elements of your life that already concern you. To receive astrological benefits, it's not necessary that you obligate yourself to do something huge - it's only necessary that you take one step in the right direction at the right time. Astrology concerns itself with when things are born, and if you start something at the right time, you're riding on the energy that's already available to you in the universe. You can also use the keywords to try to figure out if something that is affecting you is 'in the stars'. For example, let's say you find yourself wondering why you're getting drawn into conflicts with people at your church. You scan the keywords and realize 'Aha! The fiery energy of Aries is currently being activated in my 12th house of faith-related matters!' If the energy is uncomfortable, you'll have a gauge as to how long it will be prominent (oh good, it should ease up next month!) or if it's a good energy you'll know which planet to thank! You can also try your hand at predicting. If you check in at the beginning of the month and notice that your house of friendships is highlighted along with some active planetary or sign energies, you might predict for yourself that you will be engaging in a lot more fun and restorative activities with your friends in the coming month. This is basically what professional astrologers do and now you have a chance to try your own hand at it and compare your results with the pros. Have fun! NOTE: There are a wide variety of potential keywords associated with each sign, planet, and house. I pick different ones each month to give you an idea of the range from the most common concepts to much more subtle ones. Over time, you'll gain an intuitive sense of what kinds of concepts are associated with each element and you'll even be able to generate your own keywords as you get a feel for each of the signs, planets, and houses. Each keyword also inherently contains its opposite as well. For example, if the keyword 'divorce' is displayed, it doesn't mean you'll get a divorce. But it does mean that if that is a concern for you and something you want to avoid you have an opportunity, while that energy is activated, to take proactive steps to deal with potential problems or head off an undesirable outcome. So you can turn 'divorce' into 'keeping a marriage together' or 'illness' into 'taking steps to get and stay healthy'. |

Use your rising sign for better forecasts! Most published horoscopes are based at least in part on transits to solar houses. Solar houses are based on your sun sign and are easy to calculate. Your sun sign is your solar 1st house, the next sign in the zodiac is your solar 2nd house and so on. You can always determine what solar house a planet is in if you know the sign. Simply start with your own sign and count around the zodiac until you reach the sign you're interested in. For example, if you're a Gemini, the sign of your solar 3rd house is Leo. Pisces is the sign of your solar 10th house. Astrologers who publish horoscopes use sun signs and solar houses for several reasons: a) almost everyone knows their birthday; b) they're easy to calculate; and c) they actually do have some effect. However, if you get a personal reading from a professional astrologer, he or she will almost always use transits to your natal houses to give you a reading instead. Natal houses are based on your rising sign, which is determined by the exact time, place, and day you were born. Transits to your natal planets and houses have at least as much effect on your life as transits to your solar houses, sometimes quite a bit more. If you really want to know your chart, and get better horoscopes, you should find out your rising sign (also called Ascendant). If you know the exact time and place of your birth, you can do this for free at a wonderful website - www.astro.com. Click on the link near the top that says 'Free Horoscopes'. On that page, scroll down to the link that says 'Chart Drawing, Ascendant'. Follow the prompts to enter the information concerning your birth time, date, and place. You'll get a chart that shows your Ascendant (the sign next to the designation 'AC'). To the left will be a box listing your planetary placements. Next to the listing for 'AC' your rising sign will be listed along with the degree of your Ascendant within that sign. Make a note of that sign and be sure to check the horoscope and keywords for your Ascendant as well as your sun sign! |

TRACK YOUR RESULTS! Next month when you come back here for your next horoscope, take 30 seconds to assess the results of the action you took last month as a result of your horoscope. Did it make you feel better? Did it make your life any better? Did it give you renewed energy or did you find your effort blocked, delayed, or ineffective? Judging your results allows you to assess how responsive you are to a particular planetary, sign, or house energy. For example, some people are very responsive to the astrological Sun just the way some people are very responsive to a sunny day. Other people work better with the energy of other planets. Only by taking a moment to gauge your results can you learn which planets work best for you in your life. You may have an 'afflicted' natal Sun that never does much for you, but a raring-to-go Mars that will help you in a pinch every time. Checking your results each month will give you an increasingly accurate guide as to how to use astrology to enhance your life. |
